My flower’s song

Petals, rich in hue,
Sweet perfume,
a noble grace,
Laid at Buddha’s feet.
May this act, awake my mind,
soothe my heart, guide my body
to Nirvana’s shore.
For as these blossoms wilt and die,
So shall this form, and name, this earthly shell, decay

Canção da Minha Flor

Pétalas, matiz vibrante,
Petals, vibrant hue,

Perfume doce, graça pura,
Sweet perfume, pure grace,

Aos pés do Buda, ofertadas.
At the feet of the Buddha, offered.

Que este ato, desperte a mente,
May this act, awaken the mind,

Acalme o coração,
Soothe the heart,

Guie o corpo à margem de Nirvana.
Guide the body to the shore of Nirvana.

Pois como estas flores murcham e morrem,
For as these blossoms wilt and die,

Assim meu vulto, meu nome,
Thus my form, my name,

Este invólucro terreno, se desfaz.
This earthly shell, dissolves.

(Hanauta)

Iro azayaka naru hanabira
Petals, rich in hue,

Fragrant perfume, a noble grace,

Satori no misoku ni sasagu.
Offered at the sacred feet of Enlightenment.

Kono inori, waga kokoro ni mezame o,
May this prayer awaken my mind,

Tamashii ni yasuragi o,
Bring peace to my soul,

Mi o nehan e to michibikan.
And guide my body to Nirvana.

For as these flowers wilt and die,

Waga sugata, na, kono yo no utsuwa,
So shall my form, my name, this earthly shell,

Min, kokū e to kaeru.
All return to the void.
