Flores e Frutas

Daily broom – flowrs first. Stroll through an urban space with fresh, exotic and colourful produce in synch with nature’s seasons. Something of nostalgia – an earthly sweet flavour, fragrance taste from childhood, family, special persons and home. Here’s a pleasant surpise: those who gather in this land far from cultures of their own, could be lucky to have flowers from a friendly IKEBANA artist.

生け (ike) and (bana). The first, 生 means “to live” or “to be alive,” , “to have life” while the second, 花 (bana), means “flower”. Together, “giving life to flowers” or “living flowers”. Ikebana and Buddhist teachings align on the values of impermanence, minimalism, and finding harmony with nature through a contemplative practice. Fleeting Joy of Life – a teaching on life, its transient nature – everything that comes to life, to live beautifully and to pass with grace.
